Man Arrested After Woman Kidnapped From Kerrville Parking Garage

KERRVILLE, Texas - A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping after a woman was forced into a vehicle from a downtown Kerrville parking garage and later recovered unharmed, police said.

Officers with the Kerrville Police Department responded at about 10:44 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, to a reported kidnapping in the 200 block of Water Street. Investigators said a witness reported bringing the 38-year-old victim to the location to meet Anthony Harwell in order to retrieve her personal property.

During the encounter, police said Harwell forced the woman into his vehicle and fled the parking garage in an unknown direction.

Kerrville officers immediately began searching for the suspect vehicle, alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies, and issued a statewide Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue Alert.

Authorities later located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence in Somerville, Texas. The Texas Rangers coordinated a response with other agencies, leading to Harwell’s arrest without incident and the safe recovery of the victim.

Following the investigation, Kerrville detectives obtained a warrant charging Harwell with aggravated kidnapping under Texas Penal Code 20.04. He was booked into the Burleson County Jail, where he is being held pending bond.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing. Media inquiries may be directed to Sgt. Jonathan Lamb with the Kerrville Police Department at 830-258-1371 or jonathan.lamb@kerrvilletx.gov.
