Boerne Police Warn of Online Luxury Car Scam After Victims Lose Nearly $40,000

BOERNE, Texas - The Boerne Police Department is investigating reports of an online scam that has left multiple victims out nearly $40,000 after they attempted to purchase luxury vehicles advertised on the internet.

According to police, a business operating under the name “Allways Boerne” has been falsely advertising high-end vehicles for sale online and listing the former Jennings Anderson dealership, located at 33215 I-10, as its physical address. Officers confirmed with the property owner that the location is not a car dealership and is currently used only as an auto body and detailing shop.

Investigators said none of the known victims are residents of Boerne. Police are now working to connect those affected with the appropriate law enforcement agencies in their respective jurisdictions.

The department is urging the public to use caution when making large online purchases, especially involving vehicles or other high-dollar items.

Police recommend avoiding large upfront payments, particularly wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or gift cards, which are commonly used in scams. Buyers are also encouraged to independently verify businesses using contact information they find on their own, rather than relying solely on details provided by the seller.

“If a deal seems unusually good or the seller pressures you to act quickly, that’s a red flag,” police advised. “Take time to pause, verify, and double-check before sending any money.”

Anyone who believes they may have been targeted by a similar scam is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency and report the incident.
