Bandera High School Graduate Competes in Nationwide Shooting Sports Team

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Coleton Trenkelbach, a recent graduate of Bandera High School, has achieved national recognition as a top-tier shotgun shooter. Ranked 9th in his class, Trenkelbach made headlines when he was selected as one of the four competitors to represent the state of Texas in the National Shooting Sports Team for the shotgun discipline in 2023.

The prestigious competition took place this past June in Nebraska and witnessed shooters from 42 other states vying for top honors in three disciplines: sporting clays, skeet, and trap. Trenkelbach's impressive performance during the shoot-offs (tie breakers) secured him 5th place in sporting clays and 10th place in skeet, individually. However, the real triumph came for Team Texas, as they clinched the National Championship in shotgun shooting.

Trenkelbach showcased his exceptional skill and shooting prowess by taking 4th place in trap, 1st place in skeet, and 1st place in sporting clays.

As an individual, Coleton Trenkelbach's remarkable skills have brought him significant recognition. With his latest accomplishments, he is now ranked 4th overall in the nation among shotgun shooters.

But Trenkelbach's journey doesn't end there. In the upcoming fall semester, he plans to join the shotgun team at Texas A&M University, setting his sights on further honing his skills and competing at the collegiate level.
