SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A San Antonio man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another wounded following an altercation outside an after-hours bar in April.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, 20-year-old Julian Ramos was arrested on May 31, 2026, by the department's Street Crimes Unit. He has been charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on April 19 at approximately 4:37 a.m. in the 1600 block of Guadalupe Street.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire found 24-year-old Sabas Garza suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Garza was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minutes later, officers were dispatched to a second shooting scene near South Zarzamora Street and Brady Boulevard, where a man had been shot in the leg. The vehicle he was riding in also crashed following the shooting.
Investigators later determined the two shootings were connected.
According to witness statements included in court documents, an altercation broke out between two groups outside an after-hours bar before the shooting occurred.
One witness told detectives that after a fight had ended, he and two friends were walking back to their vehicle when someone shouted that a man had a gun. The witness reported seeing Ramos carrying what appeared to be an AR-style rifle.
Investigators said the witness observed Ramos cross the street toward the group and begin firing multiple rounds as they attempted to leave the area.
Two acquaintances of Ramos later told detectives they were with him before, during, and after the shooting. According to the arrest affidavit, both witnesses stated Ramos was involved in a fight before retrieving a rifle from a vehicle.
One witness told investigators Ramos fired a warning shot before firing multiple rounds toward the other group.
Detectives also obtained surveillance video that allegedly captured the incident. According to investigators, the footage showed Ramos involved in a fistfight before the groups separated and the shooting occurred.
Ramos was taken into custody Sunday and booked on charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault.
