Grace Carol Brown

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX - A 21-year-old New Braunfels woman has been arrested in connection with a break-in and fire at the Comal County Republican Headquarters earlier this month, authorities said.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, officers and firefighters were called around 1:15 p.m. Jan. 14 to the 200 block of Landa Street after employees arrived at the building and discovered a broken exterior window and evidence of a small fire. The fire caused minor damage to the building, and no injuries were reported.

The investigation involved the New Braunfels Police Department, the New Braunfels Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation San Antonio office, including its Computer Analysis Response Team. Investigators worked jointly to identify a suspect, collect evidence, and obtain search and arrest warrants.

On Jan. 22 at approximately 9 a.m., investigators executed the warrants and arrested Grace Carol Brown, 21, without incident. She was transported to the Comal County Jail and charged with burglary of a building and arson.

Authorities said Brown’s bond was set at a combined $200,000. The investigation remains open and active, and officials said additional charges may be pending.
