Man Fatally Stabbed Outside New Braunfels Dance Hall; Suspect Arrested


On Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., New Braunfels Police, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas DPS responded to a large disturbance in the parking lot of Legends Dance Hall, located in the 5400 block of I-35 South near Rusch Lane.

Officers discovered a 52-year-old male from San Antonio suffering from an apparent stab wound. Emergency personnel from the New Braunfels Fire Department provided life-saving efforts before transporting the victim to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died. Next of kin have been notified.

Investigators identified 55-year-old David Saldana of New Braunfels as a suspect in the homicide. After obtaining an arrest warrant, NBPD SWAT and the Street Crimes Unit located Saldana at a home on the 200 block of Gruene Road and arrested him without incident. Saldana is facing charges of Homicide, and bond will be set following his booking into the Comal County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities indicate additional arrests or charges may be forthcoming.
