On Sunday, July 27, 2025, Schertz Police officers responded to a report of abandoned animals at a residence located at 10615 Hillbrook Dr. in in Cibolo (Bexar County).

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the home appeared to be abandoned. Inside, numerous dogs and cats were found in distressing conditions, lacking the basic necessities required for survival and in need of immediate medical attention.

Schertz Animal Control Division was dispatched to the scene and took custody of the animals to ensure they received proper care, shelter, and treatment.

Police have opened an offense report for Cruelty to Nonlivestock Animals, a Class A Misdemeanor. The case remains an active investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment. Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
