Matthew Flynn

In a daring morning incident today, a bank located at the 7500 block of Wurzbach Rd. fell victim to an audacious robbery. San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers swiftly responded to the distress call, arriving at the scene at approximately 10:45 AM.

According to eyewitnesses and bank personnel, a lone suspect entered the bank and boldly approached a teller, making explicit demands for money. The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Matthew Flynn, reportedly brandished a firearm concealed in his waistband, along with brass knuckles. Fearing for their safety, the teller promptly complied, handing over an undisclosed sum of cash.

Without wasting a moment, Flynn hastily fled the bank on foot, leaving behind startled employees and customers. As the alarm was raised, SAPD officers wasted no time in initiating a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Robbery detectives from the SAPD were also called to the scene to assist in the case.

Utilizing their honed investigative skills, the detectives rapidly identified Flynn as a suspect and discovered that he resided in a nearby apartment complex. With the assistance of the SAPD Street Crimes Unit, law enforcement personnel quickly descended upon the suspect's location. Remarkably, the arrest was executed without incident.

During the arrest, authorities successfully recovered the firearm, brass knuckles, and the stolen money, all of which were found in Flynn's possession. The swift and effective coordination between SAPD officers, detectives, and specialized units ensured a successful resolution to this dangerous situation.
