In a virtual gathering on January 30, 2024, Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) played host to an informational webinar focusing on funding opportunities for law enforcement. The event featured representatives from key federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
During the webinar, various opportunities for eligible entities were discussed, encompassing:
- Equipment Purchase and Maintenance
- Training and Education
- Facility Improvements
- Preparedness and Planning
- Employment Opportunities
Following the presentations by the federal agencies, a question-and-answer period allowed participants to seek clarification and gather additional information.
Expressing his commitment to supporting law enforcement, Dr. Cuellar, a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, stated, "Law enforcement officers are the first to put their lives on the line.
