On the evening of Friday, December 15th, at around 8:30 p.m., a Shavano Park Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 4400 block of Lockhill-Selma Road for exceeding the speed limit. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot into a nearby San Antonio residential neighborhood. The officer pursued the driver and apprehended them for Evading Arrest. During the arrest, the subject no longer had a backpack in their possession.
Upon searching the area, the officer discovered a pair of brass knuckles in front of a house and located the discarded backpack in a recycling dumpster. A subsequent inspection of the backpack revealed prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. The subject admitted to possessing and attempting to conceal these items. Further investigation revealed that the subject is a convicted felon with multiple convictions for Robbery and Felony Assault.
The subject was transported to the Bexar County Detention Center and booked on criminal charges. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
