On Tuesday afternoon, December 26, 2023, 18-year-old Savanah Nicole Soto and 22-year-old Matthew Guerra were found dead in a vehicle in the Medical Center area of San Antonio.
Both had been missing since last Friday. She was last seen around 2 p.m. Friday at the Valencia Lofts apartments off Grissom Road in Leon Valley. Savanah was in her ninth month of pregnancy and had exceeded her due date by one week.
The vehicle was found at the Seven Oaks Apartment Homes in the 5900 block of Danny Kaye Drive.
In a press update at 6 pm, San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus addressed a perplexing crime scene that has left authorities considering the possibility of murder. Chief McManus emphasized that the information provided is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
The incident revolves around a vehicle identified as the boyfriend's where the bodies are believed to have been there for three to four days, according to McManus. Family members discovered the vehicle after receiving a tip and alerted the authorities. The identities of the deceased individuals are pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner.
The San Antonio Police Department is leading the investigation.
