The Seguin Police Department (SPD) and Seguin Fire Department (SFD) faced a demanding year in 2023, actively engaging in various aspects of community service and emergency response.

The SPD's Emergency Communication Center fielded a total of 59,870 calls throughout the year, reflecting the community's reliance on their services. Among these calls were 18,549 citizen requests for police assistance, 3,575 other service-related calls covering areas such as animal services, Fire/EMS, and Utilities, as well as 8,710 community-oriented policing calls. In an effort to strengthen community bonds, the SPD's Community Engagement division distributed 110 bicycles to children during the Badges, Bikes, & Tykes event. Additionally, the Blue Santa program brought holiday joy to 490 families, impacting over 1300 children with thoughtful gifts.
The Seguin Fire Department reported an increase in their call volume, responding to 7,400 calls for service in 2023 compared to 7,154 in the previous year. In response to the city's growth, the department introduced a new brush truck to enhance their emergency response capabilities. Looking ahead to 2024, the SFD plans to further bolster their resources by adding two new pumpers and securing budget approval for staffing 20 personnel per day—a record-setting milestone for the City of Seguin.
