Off-Duty Deputy Arrested for DWI: Hidalgo County Sheriff Ensures Accountability and Transparency

Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. "Eddie" Guerra released a statement today addressing the arrest of an off-duty deputy, Sergeant Joshua C. Kaltenbach of McAllen. According to the statement, Kaltenbach was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated by the City of McAllen Police Department.

In response to the incident, the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office has taken immediate action by placing Kaltenbach on administrative leave without pay. The decision was made pending further investigation into the matter.
