In a joint effort aimed at enhancing safety measures within the community, Bandera Independent School District (BISD) collaborated with the Bandera County Sheriff's Office to host an active shooter training event on October 6th and 7th at Bandera High School.

The training sessions, conducted by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University, emphasized solo and multiple officer tactics, casualty care, and incident command protocols. Law enforcement personnel from various agencies participated in the program, including the Bandera County Sheriff's Office, Bandera Marshal's Office, Leakey ISD Police Department, Bexar County Sheriff's Office, and several others.

Bandera ISD expressed gratitude towards Bandera County Sheriff Dan Butts for providing the opportunity to conduct this vital training, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of the community and its educational institutions.
