On September 22, 2023, at 09:57 pm, local authorities responded to a tragic incident at the intersection of State Hwy 123 S and State Hwy 46 S. The Seguin Police Department and Seguin Fire Department rushed to the scene following reports of a collision involving a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and a Honda CBR 600RR Motorcycle.

Upon their arrival, officers immediately initiated life-saving measures for a white male identified as Treton Gary Phillips, 22, a resident of Seguin. Phillips was  transported to a nearby hospital by Seguin EMS. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Treton Gary Phillips was later pronounced deceased.

The next of kin of Mr. Phillips has been notified of this tragic incident.

The Seguin Police Department has launched an investigation into the accident, which is currently ongoing.
