On August 17, 2023, the Human Exploitation Unit of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) made significant progress in their ongoing efforts to combat online exploitation of minors. Detectives were actively engaged in investigating a case involving the online solicitation of a minor, where a suspect was found to have been participating in a sexually explicit conversation with an individual whom he believed to be a 14-year-old child.

As the investigation unfolded, a breakthrough occurred when detectives positively identified Manuel Sanchez, 37, as the suspect in another separate case of online solicitation. In this instance as well, Sanchez had engaged in explicit conversations of a sexual nature with an individual he believed to be a minor.

Building a solid case against the alleged perpetrator, the Human Exploitation Detectives successfully obtained two warrants for the arrest of Mr. Manuel Sanchez, both related to the online solicitation of a minor. With the warrants in hand, SAPD's Covert Unit took Manuel Sanchez into custody without any incident.
