UVALDE, Texas — A 38-year-old Uvalde man wanted in connection with multiple burglary investigations was arrested Thursday after attempting to flee from law enforcement at a city park.
According to the Uvalde Police Department, officers with the Street Crimes Unit received information on June 25 regarding the possible whereabouts of Justin Trevino.
Working alongside deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, officers located Trevino at Uvalde Memorial Park.
Investigators said Trevino was wanted in connection with multiple offenses, including the burglary of a building at the Uvalde Country Club and a separate burglary at a local Burger King.
Police also believed Trevino had posted photos on social media showing himself carrying a firearm in his waistband while at Memorial Park.
When officers attempted to contact him, Trevino fled on foot. Authorities deployed a Taser and quickly took him into custody without further incident.
During the arrest, officers discovered Trevino was in possession of narcotics.
He was transported to the Uvalde County Jail, where he was booked on his outstanding warrants as well as additional charges of Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The arrest was the result of a joint effort involving the Uvalde Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, Street Crimes Unit, the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office, and the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
