Tragedy struck the 7900 block of Lee Hill Drive on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, as a shooting incident claimed the life of Isaias Martinez. Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the distress call at approximately 6:35 p.m., only to discover Martinez with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Martinez succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Jorge Flores-Duran was identified by witnesses at the scene as the alleged shooter. The responding officers took Flores-Duran into custody and conducted an interview during which he admitted to shooting Martinez following an argument.
In light of his confession, Jorge Flores-Duran, 28, has been arrested and charged with 1st Degree Felony Murder in connection to the shooting. He is currently held in the Travis County jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
