Suspect Arrested in Road Rage Shooting That Struck Innocent Driver in San Antonio

Manuel Garza

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A man has been arrested in connection with a road rage shooting that endangered multiple drivers and struck an uninvolved vehicle, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 10:22 a.m. on March 27 to reports of a shooting in progress in the 4300 block of Talley Road in West San Antonio. Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Nissan Titan aggressively chasing a sedan while firing multiple rounds.

During the incident, a white 2023 Hyundai Palisade driven by an innocent bystander traveling in the opposite direction was struck by a stray bullet. The round hit the hood and front windshield but did not penetrate the glass, and the driver was not injured.

Investigators later identified a 2004 Nissan Titan as a primary vehicle involved and issued a BOLO to surrounding agencies.

On April 1, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Kearney Street in Natalia. Authorities determined the vehicle was registered to Manuel Garza of San Antonio.

During a search of the residence and vehicle, investigators found evidence linking Garza to the shooting and an attempted cover-up. Deputies noted the truck had a newly replaced windshield and recovered receipts for auto parts and repairs. Shell casings were also found inside the vehicle.

Garza was taken into custody and transported to the Bexar County Jail. He is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Tampering with Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify additional vehicles and individuals involved.
