BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A coordinated response by multiple law enforcement agencies led to the safe stop of a reckless driver Tuesday after a crash on Interstate 35, officials said.
According to the Bexar County Constable’s Office Precinct 1, Deputy D. Ramos observed a vehicle traveling northbound on I-35 that struck the trailer of an 18-wheeler on March 24, 2026. The impact caused a blown tire and visible damage to the vehicle.
The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield. Authorities said the pursuit continued for several minutes as additional agencies, including the San Antonio Police Department and Bexar County Precinct 4, responded to assist.
Officers were ultimately able to safely bring the vehicle to a stop without injuries.
Investigators later determined that multiple calls had been received reporting the vehicle driving recklessly prior to the incident. Authorities believe the driver may have been experiencing a medical episode at the time.
The driver was transported by EMS to a local hospital for evaluation.
Officials said the situation was resolved without major incident due to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies.
