GONZALES COUNTY, Texas - A Gonzales man is facing multiple felony charges following a narcotics investigation that led to the seizure of fentanyl and other drugs inside the city.

On March 19, 2026, the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Gonzales Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of North College Street.

Investigators said the operation targeted the distribution of illegal narcotics in the community. During the search, authorities recovered a significant quantity of drugs, including fentanyl, along with a large amount of cash believed to be tied to drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, De Andre Gonzales was taken into custody.

He faces multiple charges, including four counts of endangering a child, as well as several drug-related offenses involving fentanyl, hydrocodone, and methamphetamine in a drug-free zone. He is also charged with possession of a dangerous drug.

Officials emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting the combination of fentanyl and child endangerment charges.

The Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office said it will continue to aggressively target individuals involved in narcotics distribution, particularly those who put children and the community at risk.

Authorities also credited the Gonzales Police Department for its assistance in the investigation.

The case remains ongoing.
