Live Oak Police Arrest Woman on Texas 'Doxing' Charge Under Amended State Law

Christina Lichtenberg

LIVE OAK, Texas - The Live Oak Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection with an alleged doxing case, following an investigation into the unlawful disclosure of personal information.

On the morning of January 30, 2026, Live Oak police officers served an arrest warrant for Unlawful Disclosure of Residence Address or Telephone Number under Texas Penal Code § 42.074. The statute, enacted in 2023 and commonly referred to as the state’s “doxing” law, was amended in 2025 to specifically include disclosures made through electronic communications.

According to police, the investigation began after a citizen reported that their private identifying information had been published without consent. Detectives reviewed the complaint, gathered evidence, and submitted the case for charges. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued for Christina Lichtenberg.

Lichtenberg was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bexar County Jail, where she was booked on the outstanding warrant.

Under Texas law, doxing is defined as the action or process of searching for and publishing private or identifying information about an individual, typically with malicious intent. Authorities note that the updated statute reflects the growing role of online platforms and electronic communications in these types of offenses.
