SAN ANTONIO, Texas - San Antonio Police Department officials say a 10-year-old girl was critically injured Friday morning after being shot during a road rage incident on the city’s north side. The child remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the shooting occurred on Friday, January 30, when a suspect, identified as Bryan Arceo, aggressively backed out of a driveway. Another driver honked in response. Investigators say Arceo then fired a handgun toward the other vehicle, striking the 10-year-old girl who was seated in the back seat. Two adults inside the vehicle were not injured.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the area. San Antonio police activated a multi-unit response, involving patrol officers, covert units, SWAT, and investigators. Arceo was located and taken into custody without further incident.

Police credited the rapid coordination between units for the quick arrest and said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the San Antonio Police Department.
