In a joint operation conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Border Patro, Christian Medrano-Alanis, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested on charges of human smuggling after attempting to guide four other illegal immigrants across the Rio Grande in the Rio Grande Valley.
During the operation, the collaborative team managed to intercept Medrano-Alanis while he was smuggling the group of illegal immigrants across the river. Subsequently, further investigations were carried out, leading to the shocking discovery that Medrano-Alanis was in possession of a phone containing explicit child pornography.
The case took a concerning turn when the Texas Rangers took over the investigation and subsequently charged Medrano-Alanis with possession or promotion of child pornography after finding a video involving child exploitation on his phone.
Authorities are now working diligently to gather more evidence and understand the extent of Medrano-Alanis's involvement in both human smuggling and child pornography.
