Hays County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested for Public Intoxication in Kyle

KYLE, TEXAS – A Hays County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for public intoxication after an incident in Kyle on Tuesday night, according to officials.

On October 21, 2025, the Kyle Police Department arrested Deputy Victor Guajardo in the 100 block of Kennicott Drive. Guajardo was charged with Public Intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor under Texas law.

Authorities confirmed that Deputy Guajardo, who is assigned to the Patrol Division of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, was off duty at the time of the incident.

In a statement, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said that its Office of Professional Responsibility has launched an internal administrative investigation, which will run concurrently with the criminal case being handled by the Kyle Police Department.

“Deputy Guajardo has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation,” the department said. “The Sheriff’s Office currently has no additional information to provide. If additional pertinent information becomes available, an update will be provided.”

The Kyle Police Department is leading the criminal investigation, while the Hays County Sheriff’s Office will determine any internal consequences after its administrative process is complete.

As of Tuesday evening, Guajardo had been processed and released. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office stated that updates will be provided if new information becomes available as the investigations progress.
