COMAL COUNTY, TX – Three individuals have been sentenced in separate felony cases prosecuted by the Comal County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, including a San Antonio man linked to a storage facility burglary in New Braunfels earlier this year.
Storage Facility Burglary Case
Paul William Burdick, 39, of San Antonio, pled guilty to Burglary of a Building and Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Information. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Judge Tracie Wright-Reneau of the 207th District Court.
On May 1, 2025, New Braunfels police responded to a reported burglary at a storage facility in the 1300 block of Ranch Parkway. The facility manager discovered two units with tampered locks, and surveillance footage captured two men arriving in a black Tesla with mismatched license plates. The suspects stole several items, including a welder, a pressure washer, and a motorcycle that they fueled and jump-started before taking.
On May 14, 2025, an NBPD officer conducting patrols encountered Burdick and another man inside a U-Haul. A probable cause search led to the discovery of a counterfeit mail key, stolen mail, and identifying information connected to the earlier burglary. Both suspects were arrested.
Burdick’s sentence was enhanced due to prior felony convictions in Bexar County for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Chief Felony Prosecutor Sammy McCrary handled the case for the State of Texas.
Drug Cases
In a separate case, Kianna Cobb, 23, of San Antonio, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) under 1 gram. She was sentenced by Judge Stephanie Bascon of the 466th District Court to five years of deferred adjudication, a $2,000 fine, 300 hours of community service, and completion of court-ordered treatment. The Comal County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, and Assistant District Attorney Lauren Cole prosecuted it.
Paul Hunter Guerrero, 30, of San Marcos, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) between 1 and 4 grams and was sentenced to seven years in prison by Judge Bruce Boyer of the 22nd District Court. Guerrero is already serving a 15-year sentence for unrelated drug offenses out of Hays County. His case was investigated by the New Braunfels Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley Indelicato.
