Schertz Police Search for Man Who Attempted to Lure 13-Year-Old Girl into Car

SCHERTZ, Texas—The Schertz Police Department is investigating a report of a suspicious man who attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 4:47 p.m. on September 1, the police received a report that a girl was walking home on Westchester near Curtiss Avenue when a white male in a black Honda Civic drove up and asked for her name and to get into the car. The girl did not provide any information and immediately went home to tell her parents.

Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male with blonde hair, wearing a black tank top.

The Schertz Police Department is asking residents in the area with security cameras to review their footage. If the vehicle or suspect is seen, residents are urged to contact the department at 210-619-1200.

The department expressed gratitude to the child for her quick thinking and for following "stranger danger" protocols. The investigation is ongoing, and police are collaborating with multiple agencies to identify the suspect.
