Felony Suspect Caught Hiding Under Home After 90-Minute Manhunt in Atascosa County

Felix DeLeon taken into custody

On Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2025, a DPS Trooper initiated a traffic stop in northern Atascosa County. The driver, later identified as Felix DeLeon of Somerset, fled the vehicle and ran into a wooded area near Highway 16 and Stacey Road.

Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies quickly responded to assist. DeLeon was already wanted out of Bexar County for a felony Evading Arrest charge.

Deputies from the C Shift patrol team, along with Sgt. Investigator Challes, Sgt. Investigator Wilson, and Deputy Chief Kaiser, joined DPS Troopers in the search. The team spread out through the wooded area and, after more than 90 minutes, found DeLeon hiding underneath an occupied residence.

He was taken into custody without further incident.

DeLeon was booked into the Atascosa County Jail on the Bexar County felony warrant and faces new charges from Thursday’s events, including Evading Arrest and Burglary of a Habitation.
