A juvenile male was arrested in the early hours of June 15 following a theft at a Valero gas station and a subsequent slow-speed pursuit through Pleasanton’s east side.
At approximately 2 a.m., Pleasanton Police officers were dispatched to the Valero located at 1318 Second Street after reports of a theft in progress. Officer Reyna, who was nearby, responded immediately and observed bystanders pointing toward a fleeing pickup truck.
Officer Reyna activated her emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over. A slow-speed pursuit ensued, ending in the 800 block of Market Street where the vehicle finally came to a stop.
The suspect, a juvenile, was taken into custody without incident. Officers determined he was intoxicated and in possession of stolen property and narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed substances classified under Penalty Group 2.
The juvenile was transported to the Atascosa County Juvenile Center. He is facing charges including Evading Arrest, Theft, Driving Under the Influence by a Minor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
