San Antonio Police Apprehend Suspect in Multiple Burglaries

Jose Patino

The San Antonio Police Department's Property Crimes Task Force and FIT (Fugitive Investigation Tactical) Team achieved a significant breakthrough on Tuesday, July 4th, when they apprehended a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of burglaries throughout the city. The suspect, identified as Jose Patino, was taken into custody without incident during an undercover operation.

Following a lead received by the detectives, the law enforcement team devised a plan to set up an undercover buy with Patino, who was allegedly involved in multiple burglaries targeting various buildings in San Antonio. To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the operation, the SAPD enlisted the assistance of the EAGLE (Emergency Assistance and Global Law Enforcement) and RAVEN (Regional Aerial Video Event Network) units to establish comprehensive surveillance.

Undercover detectives met with Patino to negotiate the purchase of stolen property he had allegedly acquired during the commission of his crimes. As the "deal" unfolded, law enforcement officers swiftly moved in and apprehended Patino, who offered no resistance.

During the subsequent investigation, SAPD detectives were able to recover seven high-end fishing reels from Patino, with an estimated value exceeding $4,200. The seized items are believed to be part of the stolen property acquired through the string of burglaries that had plagued San Antonio in recent months.

In addition to the recovery of the stolen goods, Patino was found to have an outstanding felony warrant, further implicating him in criminal activities. He now faces charges for the outstanding warrant as well as Burglary of a Building with intent to commit thefts.
