Hill Country Samaritans and BISD to Host Back to School Bash, Providing Free Supplies and Services for Students

Hill Country Samaritans and the Bandera Independent School District are gearing up for their fifth annual Back to School Bash, set to take place on Saturday, July 29 at the Lakehills Community Center. The event, which will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., promises to be a fun-filled evening for families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Admission to the Back to School Bash is free, and school-age children will have the opportunity to receive backpacks and school supplies at no cost. To ensure that children receive the supplies, they must be present at the event. Whether attending public school, private school, or being homeschooled, students from Pre-K through grade 12 are welcome to participate.

Inside the Lakehills Community Center, children will have access to various services. They can get haircuts, school physicals, and vision screenings, all conveniently available in one location. Representatives from the Bandera ISD will be on hand to assist with student registration and provide information on school services, including lunches and transportation.

In addition, school immunizations will be offered to children who bring their vaccine cards and insurance cards. For those without insurance or on Medicaid, assistance can be obtained by contacting Kim at 830-796-6169 to determine eligibility.

To keep attendees hydrated, bottled water will be freely available throughout the event. Children can also look forward to engaging in crafts, games, and activities, as well as enjoying a petting zoo. Delicious food and lively music will add to the festive atmosphere, making the Back to School Bash a memorable experience for all.

The collaboration between Hill Country Samaritans and the Bandera Independent School District aims to support families in the community by easing the financial burden associated with preparing for the new school year. By providing essential supplies, services, and a day of entertainment, they hope to foster a positive and successful start to the academic journey for all participating students.
