On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported a large warehouse fire near 18th Street and Avenue O in Hondo.
Engine 8160 arrived within five minutes of the dispatch and reported heavy fire engulfing an old wood-frame barn. Additional fire units were immediately requested to assist.
Fire crews from Stations 60, 10, 65, 70, and 20, along with community EMS, are actively working to contain the fire. Authorities urge caution in the area, as it remains an active scene.
A video of sevaral persons of interest has been released.
