On October 8, 2024, at approximately 10:01 a.m., Schertz Police Department responded to an ultralight aircraft crash at the Kitty Hawk Ultralight Field, located at 20180 FM 2252. The pilot encountered a loss of altitude during a routine flight operation, resulting in the crash.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and administered medical aid to the pilot, whose injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. The pilot has since been transported to Brooke Army Medical Center for further treatment.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
