San Antonio Man Shot in the Kneecap During Altercation at Northwest Side Walmart

In a startling incident that took place at a Walmart on the Northwest Side, a man was shot in the kneecap during an altercation on Saturday afternoon. The shooting occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the 6700 block of West Loop 1604 Northbound.

According to authorities, a heated confrontation unfolded between the victim and an unidentified suspect, leading to a violent escalation. During the altercation, the suspect fired a gunshot, striking the victim directly in the kneecap. Immediately after the shooting, the assailant quickly fled the scene, leaving behind a scene of chaos and confusion.

Given the circumstances, the San Antonio Police Department was called to the scene promptly. Officers arrived and secured the area, while emergency medical personnel attended to the injured victim. The victim, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect or any additional information regarding the altercation.

The wounded individual was transported to University Hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, the victim's injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
