The situation took a dangerous turn when officers confronted the suspects, leading to a foot pursuit and a subsequent physical altercation near the intersection of S Wright Street and E Buck Street. The incident culminated in an officer being shot by one of the suspects, resulting in the suspect's demise after the officer returned fire. The injured officer was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital by Burleson St. Joseph Emergency Medical Services, where he is currently in stable condition.
