On Friday, February 16th, 2024, around 8:40 p.m., a Shavano Park Police officer initiated a traffic stop in the 14700 block of NW Military Highway due to a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. During the encounter, the officer detected the scent of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle and observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight.

Upon further investigation, the driver voluntarily surrendered a ziplock bag containing marijuana. Additionally, a firearm was discovered inside the vehicle. The driver received a citation for the drug paraphernalia, and the firearm was confiscated pending additional inquiry.

The case has been referred to criminal investigations for further processing.
