Man Sentenced to 51 Years for Murder, Faces Additional 20 Years for Robbery

Felix Hernandez, 33, has been sentenced to 51 years in prison by a Bexar County jury for the murder of 42-year-old Victoria Stampley. The jury found Hernandez guilty of aggravated kidnapping and multiple counts of tampering with evidence. He received an additional 20-year sentence for aggravated kidnapping and a total of 24 years for the tampering charges. Despite the sentences adding up to 95 years, they will run concurrently with the 51-year term. Hernandez will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least half of his sentence for murder.

Furthermore, at the prosecution's request, the judge overseeing the trial in the 379th District Court revoked Hernandez's deferred supervision for a robbery committed in 2010. Consequently, after completing his 51-year sentence, Hernandez will serve an additional 20 years for robbery, bringing his total time behind bars to 71 years. Essentially, this means Hernandez is unlikely to be released.

The incident occurred on January 22, 2022, when Hernandez and his wife were celebrating her birthday and encountered the victim, Victoria Stampley. They offered Stampley a ride home, but as they approached her residence, Hernandez shot her four times. Despite her grave injuries, Hernandez continued driving, leaving Stampley on the street where her body was found the following morning.

"Felix Hernandez drove aimlessly around as the victim, severely wounded but alive, suffered and eventually died," said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales, "His cold and ruthless behavior cried out for justice.  Today, he got that justice at the hands of a Bexar County jury."

Charges against Hernandez's wife, Stacy May Lynn Page, 29, are still pending in connection with the case.
