Bandera Middle School Student Makes Act of Violence Threat

UPDATE: After further investigation, the Bandera ISD says that the verbal threat was not credible.

According to a Bandera ISD statement, the Bandera County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a potential threat of an act of violence at the Bandera Middle School possibly made by a student on May 3, 2023, during dismissal.

"We take all threats seriously and have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff.", said the statement.

Following the investigation with law enforcement, the student in question has been identified.

According to the Bandera ISD Code of Conduct, any student who is found to make a threat towards the campus is subject to immediate removal.

The school district assures parents and the public that they have taken immediate action, but will not be discussing individual student discipline.

"We want to emphasize that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, as well as being transparent with our community. We take all threats seriously and have protocols in place to ensure that our school remains a safe and secure environment for learning." said the statement.
