The San Antonio Police Department Prue Property Crimes Detectives conducted an arrest and search warrant on 33 year-old Andrew Cantu for partaking in a theft and fraud scheme that targeted elderly.
The suspect was known to contact elderly victims, claiming a family member was “arrested and needed bail money”. Victims would often fall for the scheme and send large amount of money to the suspect.
Over $200K is believed to have been received by the defendant and his associates. The suspect will be facing a charge of Theft: $2,500 - $30,000.
