The City of Fredericksburg has announced a public hearing to discuss proposed charter amendments recommended by the City's Charter Review Committee. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and will take place at the Hill Country University Center, located at 2818 East US Hwy 290 in Fredericksburg.
Citizens are encouraged to participate and provide comments on the proposed amendments, as outlined in the Charter Review Committee Draft Report. The report, along with the suggested amendments, is available for review on the City's official website at www.fbgtx.org.
The Charter Review Committee welcomes public engagement during the hearing. Written comments can be submitted online at www.fbgtx.org or via email at citizencomments@fbgtx.org until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024. Additionally, individuals interested in speaking at the meeting in person can sign up on location between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the day of the event.
The Final Report, including the proposed amendments, will be presented to the City Council during their regular meeting on January 16, 2024. Voters will have the opportunity to consider the proposed amendments to the City Charter during the City Special Election on May 4, 2024.
