In a remarkable achievement, Carlye Niccum, a talented flutist from Bandera High School, secured the top position in the ATSSB All-State Band following her successful audition this past weekend.

Competing with fellow high school flautists in Area C, Carlye impressed all five judges and claimed the coveted number one rank. Carlye, who serves as the Band President and plays flute in both the Marching and Symphonic Bands at Bandera High School, has consistently demonstrated exceptional musical prowess.

This accomplishment follows Carlye's stellar performance on December 9, where she auditioned for the Region 29/32 Band and earned the 1st chair on flute. Subsequently advancing to the Area competition, Carlye's dedication and skill were once again recognized as she secured the top rank, earning her a well-deserved spot in the All-State Band flute section.

Carlye Niccum's musical journey continues this Saturday, January 13, 2024, as she takes the stage with the Region 29/32 Symphonic Band in Burnet, TX. Looking ahead, Carlye is set to perform with the All-State Band on February 10th at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio.

Bandera High School's Band Directors, Mr. Cortez and Ms. Batto, expressed their immense pride in Carlye's achievements and extended their best wishes for her future endeavors. Carlye's dedication, hard work, and countless hours of practice have undeniably paid off, marking a significant milestone in her musical career.
