On the night of January 2, 2024, the Fredericksburg Police Department responded to a distressing incident involving an armed robbery and shooting at a convenience store located in the 1000 block of N State Hwy 16 in Fredericksburg.
The suspect, identified as a heavyset Hispanic male, entered the store before donning a mask and brandishing a handgun. In the course of the robbery, the suspect fired shots, tragically killing a bystander. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
As of now, the suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and report any information related to the suspect's identity or whereabouts.
