Peterson Health has been honored with the prestigious designation of Top Rural Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, a nationally renowned watchdog organization recognized for setting rigorous standards in healthcare safety and quality. The announcement was made at the 2023 Leapfrog Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner held in Washington, D.C. on December 5th.

Out of more than 2,100 hospitals considered for the award, Peterson Health emerged as one of the 132 facilities recognized as a Top Hospital, including categories such as Children’s, General, Rural, and Teaching hospitals. The selection process takes into account various aspects of hospital performance, such as infection rates, practices for safer surgery, maternity care, and the capacity to prevent medication errors.
