Three teenagers are currently in police custody following an alleged carjacking incident that led to a pursuit in West San Antonio on the early morning of December 5, 2023.

The incident began when officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at a Walgreens near Commerce Street and South General McMullen. According to the police, several teenage suspects carjacked a woman at gunpoint. Law enforcement was able to locate the stolen vehicle and another previously taken vehicle, prompting an attempt to pull them over.

A brief chase ensued, culminating in one of the vehicles crashing. The teenagers inside the crashed car fled the scene, firing at officers. One suspect was apprehended, while the other two attempted to hide—one in nearby bushes and the other in a trash can. Both were later located and taken into custody.

The San Antonio Police Department reported that no injuries resulted from the gunfire, and officers did not return fire. Authorities have recovered one of the stolen vehicles, along with weapons, and are currently searching for the second stolen vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
