17-Year-Old Arrested in Connection with H-E-B Parking Lot Shooting

A 17-year-old has been taken into custody in relation to a shooting incident that occurred earlier this week in the parking lot of an H-E-B on the North Side. The suspect, identified as Gabriel Xavier Garza, was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday.

Records indicate that Garza faces two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and his bond has been set at $200,000.

The incident, which unfolded on Monday night, resulted in three individuals sustaining injuries, including a 3-year-old child. San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) reported that the shooting occurred when two groups exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of the H-E-B store located at the intersection of San Pedro Avenue and Oblate Drive.

One victim, a man in his 20s, was discovered at the back of the store with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police statements.

Following the incident, one of the vehicles involved fled the scene and was traced to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Jackson Keller Road. At that location, a 22-year-old woman and the toddler were found with graze wounds. Both individuals were transported to University Hospital for medical attention.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
