Kerrville Motorcyclist Arrested with 62 Grams of Methamphetamine After Routine Traffic Stop

In the late hours of Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 10:03 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the 23000 block of West US Highway 290, responding to observed traffic violations. During the encounter, deputies requested the driver's license from the male operator.

In the process of complying with the request, the driver removed several jackets he was wearing. Deputies, citing safety concerns, asked the driver to inspect the jackets. The driver willingly handed over the jackets, leading to the discovery of a glass smoking pipe used for ingesting methamphetamine in one of the pockets.

Subsequently, a probable cause search of the motorcycle was conducted. Inside a sunglass case, deputies uncovered a baggie containing a substance identified as methamphetamine, along with a scale and multiple smaller baggies of the illicit substance. The larger baggie weighed approximately 31.65 grams, while the combined weight of the smaller baggies totaled approximately 30.39 grams, resulting in a total of around 62.04 grams.

The 42-year-old driver, hailing from Kerrville, TX, was arrested and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, specifically equal to or exceeding 4 grams but less than 200 grams.
