Brownsville Police Operation Results in Arrests and Drug Seizure

In a joint operation, the Brownsville Police Department Special Investigations Narcotics Unit, with support from the SWAT team, executed a search warrant on a residence situated at the 500 block of McDavitt Blvd on November 28, 2023. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation targeting the alleged sale of illegal narcotics from the identified residence.

Four individuals were apprehended and taken into custody:

  • Rogelio Ceballos (19)
  • Sebastian Mujica (23)
  • Raul Adrian Alvarado (24)
  • Heron Hernandez (27)

Each individual faces charges related to the alleged illicit activities:

Rogelio Ceballos:

  • Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B >=4G<200G (Crack Cocaine): 1st Degree Felony
  • Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity: 1st Degree Felony
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence: 3rd Degree Felony
  • Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2: State Jail Felony
  • Possession of Marijuana (2 Counts): Class B Misdemeanor

Sebastian Mujica, Raul Adrian Alvarado, and Heron Hernandez:

  • Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B >=4G<200G (Crack Cocaine): 1st Degree Felony
  • Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity: 1st Degree Felony
  • Possession of Marijuana: Class B Misdemeanor

All four suspects were arraigned on November 29, 2023. Bond amounts were set as follows:

  • Rogelio Ceballos: $224,000
  • Sebastian Mujica: $202,000
  • Raul Adrian Alvarado: $152,000
  • Heron Hernandez: $152,000

Upon testing, the seized cocaine was found to contain Fentanyl, underscoring the potential dangers associated with illegal narcotics.

The Brownsville Police Department emphasized the importance of public awareness regarding the risks of consuming such substances and commended the SIU Narcotics Unit for their successful and timely intervention. The operation not only resulted in the removal of hazardous substances from the streets but also mitigated the risk of potential overdoses.
