Brandon Dean Saunders, a 37-year-old resident of Bandera, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison following his conviction for the possession of methamphetamine. The sentencing was handed down by 216th District Judge Albert Pattillo last Wednesday, subsequent to a jury's verdict of guilty for drug possession. District Attorney Stephen Harpold revealed that, due to Saunders' prior criminal record, the sentencing options ranged from a minimum of 25 years to a maximum of 99 years to life in prison.
Saunders found himself in legal trouble on July 14, 2022, when he was arrested for the possession of methamphetamine, with the amount totaling 1.23 grams, according to a statement from the Bandera County Sheriff's Office. District Attorney Harpold clarified that this sentencing would not include the possibility of parole.
Saunders has a history of prior arrests in Kendall County and Williamson County, related to charges involving theft, drugs, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
