Bandera Middle School's volleyball teams showcased their skills and determination in matches against Pearsall on Monday night.
In the 8th Grade A Team game, the Lady Bulldogs had an intense battle against the Pearsall Dogies. The first set was a nail-biter, ending with a close score of 25-23 in favor of Bandera. Despite struggling with nerves in the second set and losing 23-25, the girls rallied back in the third set, securing a victory with a score of 15-9. The players demonstrated exceptional teamwork and trust in each other throughout the game. Addison Ashcraft led the team with 11 serving aces, supported by strong performances from Pyper Barnard, Briley Clark, Mckenna Jones, Kolbie Lawlis, and Isabella Pace. The team is gearing up for their next challenge as they travel to Devine after a restful fall break.
The 8th Grade B Team also triumphed over Pearsall's B team, thanks to the impressive serving skills of Blake Waid, accurate digs from Kylie Hall, and powerful hits from Gracelyn Upton. The girls displayed excellent communication and teamwork, securing a well-deserved victory.
In the 7th Grade A Team match, the Lady Bulldogs demonstrated outstanding serve receive skills, winning in two sets with scores of 25-7 and 25-16. The players showcased their ability to keep calm platforms and fast feet, allowing for excellent passes and sets. Strong attacks from Brooke, Brylyn, Gracen, Hadley, Rehnahta, and Maddie contributed to the team's success. The 7th Grade A Team will face Devine on October 11, aiming for another win.
Meanwhile, the 7th Grade B Team continued their winning streak, defeating Pearsall in two sets. Makensie Clay led the team with 13 successful serves, and Maikenna Ybarra improved her serves with a total of 5. Kamilla Vazquez's strong performance in the back row and Bentley O’Donnal's energy on the court were crucial in securing the victory. With this win, the 7th Grade B Team's record stands at 5-1, and they are eagerly anticipating their upcoming match against Devine next Wednesday.
