Bandera High School's QB/DB Jesse Cardenas has been nominated for the prestigious Dave Campbell's Texas Football Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week award, sponsored by Kroger. Cardenas earned this recognition following an outstanding performance in a thrilling 42-35 victory against Robstown.
During the game, Cardenas showcased his exceptional skills on both offense and defense. He completed 7 out of 11 passes, amassing an impressive 202 yards and throwing 4 touchdowns. In addition to his passing prowess, Cardenas made a significant impact on the ground, carrying the ball 22 times for 155 yards and scoring 2 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed with 2 tackles and 1 interception, displaying his versatility on the field.
The Bandera Independent School District is rallying behind Cardenas and encouraging everyone to vote for him in the Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week contest.
